Future of music is in AI- David Guetta
David Guetta, who won the Best Producer Award at the Brit Awards this past weekend, has declared that “the future of music is in AI”.
The French producer recently used two AI sites to create a vocal and rap in the style of Eminem, though he stated that he won’t be releasing the track commercially. He believes that musicians will use AI as a tool to create new sounds in the future and compared AI to instruments that have brought about past musical revolutions. Guetta noted that nothing can replace taste, and what defines an artist is their emotion and the use of modern instruments to express it.
In response to Guetta’s experiment, some fans were impressed, while others like Bilawal Sidhu, a YouTube and TikToker, tweeted that it was a problem with the current state of AI proliferation. Nick Cave, who was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has also had his own run-in with AI recently, writing a scathing review of an AI system that tried to write a song in his style.
Nevertheless, AI is here to stay and it seems to be taking over even the world of music, with fans taking existing songs and using software to make them sound like another artist is singing them
